GOAT Factory Guest Spotlight: Nicole Brown
Open Book Extracts (OBX) is a wholesale producer of cannabinoid ingredients and a number of other incredible and rare products derived from environmentally friendly and sustainably grown hemp. A top-tier hemp extraction company, OBX defends the title by sourcing their raw materials from regenerative and sustainable farms and by producing both gold standard cannabinoids and innovative finished products.
More than CBD
OBX’s research and development team has unearthed various uses of the hemp plant by extracting more than just the CBD and THC found in most cannabis products. Their discoveries have brought rare cannabinoid isolates like CBN, CBC, CBG, CBDV, THCV to a wider market. These ingredients have incredible non-psychoactive physical effects, giving patients and customers alternatives to sedatives, anti-inflammatory drugs, muscle relaxants, energy boosters, and anticonvulsants. Check out their full line of raw materials here.
They provide a full range of products to cater to consumers’ desired application types: ingestible, dissolvable, topical, and Easysnaps®. OBX’s product innovations have turned hemp into the accessible cure for all-natural pharmaceuticals – without the long list of side effects. Through their vertically integrated extraction and production processes, they maintain a long, long list of benefits.

Down to the Details
Each of our podcast guests starts off with the same question: “what is innovation,” Nicole provides ample insight into not only the cannabis industry but also OBX’s processes and overall purpose in the cannabis industry.
She starts off by explaining how their Easysnaps® packaging solves the problem of getting CBD into first-time users’ hands for their maiden voyage into using the product. It opens the door to “try before you buy” – which is a major advantage for a CBD product since so many are priced so high. A second value-add this innovative packaging solution offers consumers is dosing control. How is a first-time user supposed to know how much to take when they have a 1000ml bottle of CBD tincture in their hands? Easysnaps® provides the answer through limited, one-time-use dosing of manageable amounts. Trying CBD is a major stepping stone for many individuals, so OBX’s Easysnaps® packaging allows for an easy trial run when testing out their range of rare cannabinoid offerings.
Beyond their single-use cannabinoid offerings, Nicole explains how important it is for users to understand where the products come from and how different products have…healthier…origins than others. Open Book Extracts sources their raw ingredients through regenerative and sustainable farms that also meet the criteria of Kosher, Natural, Non-GMO, and many others outlined above. This is a major distinguishing factor for CBD products, as some are extracted through genetically mutated and impure growth procedures. Making this distinction is one of the most important factors to providing a successful experience and healthy product for new and returning users. OBX outlines on their packaging: what kind of cannabinoid the product contains, from where it was extracted, and outlining the main function the user will experience upon consuming or applying the product.
