A New and Engaging Donor Wall Idea

At a nonprofit, university, hospital, or museum, a strategically placed donor wall translates abstract generosity into something physical and permanent. Names, messages, or milestones show that contributions don’t disappear into a spreadsheet: they live in the space they helped create.

With a strategically placed Split Flap or Picture Flap, supporters see themselves as part of a story, not just a transaction. When people see peers, families, or respected organizations acknowledged, it normalizes giving. A donor wall says: people like you support this mission.

Why Organizations Choose Kinetic Signage for Supporter Walls

Split Flap and Picture Flap allow organizations to get more out of their spaces, delivering interesting and timely brand messages and imagery in high-traffic areas. Through three dimensional motion and sound, our boards attract subtle attention without distracting within the space.

Our tech is also eco-friendly, sustainable signage that engages visitors with a fraction of the power required to display messages on a digital screen. Create a donor wall in a historic space without impacting architectural integrity. Use our eco-friendly signage to achieve a screen-free donor wall and adhere to your LEED certification goals. Learn more about the benefits of our custom kinetic signage below!

Picture Flap Display Attracts Attention

1. Draws Visitors in Using Movement & Sound

We all recall the nostalgic sight and sound of classic departure boards at transit hubs. The subtle sound and movement was vital to drawing attention to announcements — and that’s why organizations even outside the transportation sector are repurposing analog displays. The opportunities for experiential engagement are endless, helping organizations pay tribute to donors in modern, historic, and innovative environments.

4. Reduce Visual Clutter

Instead of elements that compete and create chaos, our kinetic displays rotate through a range of dynamic messages or imagery, creating visual harmony. Our analog technology is also three-dimensional, not flat like a digital screen.

Split Flap Display Retro Signs

5. Vintage Inspired, High Quality Retro Signs

Everyone loves the look of classic displays, but sometimes the functionality of vintage signs leaves much to be desired. Our displays have the same vintage feel and mid-century aesthetic, but without the unpredictability of retro signs. With a limited five-year warranty, organizations that invest in our custom signage receive the same design benefits as vintage store signs, with no concerns about quality.

6. Sustainable, Energy Saving Signage

Split Flap and Picture Flap displays draw a fraction of the power created by digital screens. There’s no need to worry about overheating or any broken pixels. Even content generated by screens consumes considerable energy, unlike the energy required by our custom displays.

Five-Year-Warranty

We’re proud of the high quality of these vintage-inspired displays; we’ve have had one of our original Split Flaps testing in our shop for over 45 million rotations (completing a cycle from flap #1 to flap #50). For the average departure board installation, one that updates frequently and operates all day, 45 million rotations is similar to about 25 to 35 years of use.
