At Oat Foundry, we’re all about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with technology and design. That’s why we’re excited to announce the latest creative upgrade to our workspace — the new imagery on our Picture Flap display in the office entryway. This fresh installation breathes new life into our 4-row by 6-column Picture Flap, transforming it into a dynamic canvas of innovation and art.
Our Picture Flap has been a statement piece at Oat Foundry since 2022, greeting visitors and team members alike with an engaging and ever-changing visual experience. The original art was designed around the history of Oat Foundry, with brief timeline information on most of the artboards (check out the original look here). Recently, we decided it was time to give the sign a fresh look. We updated the flaps with bold photos that play with color and motion.
The beauty of the Picture Flap lies in its ability to blend art with engineering seamlessly. Drawing functional inspiration from vintage Split Flap displays, our Picture Flap marries old-school mechanical charm with modern technology. The updated visuals explore the relationship between form and function — each rotation of the flaps introduces new imagery, creating a sense of fluidity and motion that keeps viewers engaged. The art is designed to evolve throughout the day, offering a rotating gallery of colorful visuals that encourage curiosity and inspire creativity. While this particular set of art leverages mainly photos, Picture Flap’s digital printing allows for vector graphics and other visual possibilities.
The Picture Flap format allows for a wide range of possibilities in terms of visual storytelling, and with this update, we’ve focused on delivering a fresh look that reflects our company’s innovative spirit. The rotating display captures the essence of Oat Foundry – constantly moving, constantly changing, and always pushing boundaries. From concept to completion, this Picture Flap captures the essence of innovation we love here at Oat Foundry.
