Plainridge Park Casino combines modern gaming and entertainment with thoughtful, innovative design elements. The casino emphasizes a high-quality guest experience by creating a balance between excitement and more subtle, engaging features. One standout design element is the Split Flap display – a nostalgic alternative to the typical flashing LED screens that dominate the casino environment.
The Split Flap display offers a refreshing change from the bright, fast-paced digital signage throughout the casino. Its retro design and distinctive “click-clack” sound evoke memories of classic train stations and airports, adding a touch of nostalgia to the atmosphere. The mechanical motion of its rotating flaps draws attention in an engaging way, offering a simple yet elegant contrast to LED screens. It provides a moment of pause for guests, creating a balance between the high-tech casino environment and a nod to the past.
One of the most captivating aspects of the Split Flap is its sound. The rhythmic “click-clack” of the changing flaps stands out amid the constant hum of electronic machines. The analog sound draws visitors’ attention, grounding them in the present moment and making the experience more immersive.
The Split Flap also aligns with Plainridge Park Casino’s commitment to sustainability. As part of a LEED Gold-certified facility, the Split Flap display uses less energy than traditional digital signage, reflecting the casino’s dedication to reducing its environmental footprint. The certification highlights the casino’s eco-friendly design and operation, from energy-efficient systems to sustainable materials, creating a healthier and more efficient space for visitors and staff.
Incorporating the Split Flap display into the casino is more than just an aesthetic choice — it’s a thoughtful blend of tradition and modernity. Its nostalgic charm, combined with its sensory appeal and energy efficiency, enhances the overall casino experience, offering guests a unique moment that sets Plainridge Park Casino apart.
By adding the Split Flap display, Plainridge Park Casino provides visitors with a sensory-rich experience that connects past and present, all while embracing sustainable design and innovation.
