The Helmsley building at 230 Park Avenue was designed by Warren & Wetmore, the architects who designed Grand Central Terminal. The building is an iconic piece of New York City’s Midtown and remains virtually unchanged since its completion in 1929.

When moving into the Helmsley building, Sweetgreen design manager Justin Brooks stood true to Sweetgreen’s statement and looked for elements to tie into the area’s transit history. A Split Flap, along with other key design choices, aided in the pursuit to honor Grand Central Station.
